Curt Markus and Howard Thompson partnered in 1976 to design and build custom homes in Eugene. Back in the 70s energy conservation was a concern, much like it is today. Curt and Howard's designs were among the first in the area to incorporate passive solar design and high insulation values. In addition to being energy efficient, our homes took advantage of natural lighting and craftsman style woodwork to create an atmosphere of warmth and beauty.
In 1990 with a grant from the state, we opened a wall panel shop to construct framed wall panels for both residential and commercial projects. Our extensive experience in design build construction merged with the process of panelization to provide higher productivity and more consistent quality. We have panelized projects in Washington, Oregon, California, Mexico, Japan, Korea and Belize.
In 2004, Curt Markus retired from daily activities and Nick and Chris Skelton became equal partners in Markus-Thompson Construction Inc. Nick holds a degree in architecture from the University of Oregon and has a good understanding of structures and building codes. He has the knowledge and experience to work efficiently with engineers and building officials. Chris is a journeyman carpenter, concrete worker and small equipment operator. Our crews are trained in building foundations, framing carpentry and forming and finishing concrete. By performing much of the work in house, we are able maintain a high level of quality, meet schedules and keep our building sites neat and clean.
Over the years we have designed and built hundreds of homes, remodels and additions. Our commercial building experience includes residential care facilities, restaurants, apartments, various offices, industrial buildings and warehouses. We have the experience to assist you in design, engineering and coordinating with planning and building officials.
Most important of all is client satisfaction. We are responsive to our clients needs and willing to do whatever is needed to make the building experience an enjoyable process. Our continued success is based on having our clients recommend us to their friends and neighbors.
